Biography of missionary Isobel May (Mysie) Schenk, during 1921-1953 in the Mount Margaret Goldfields of Western Australia and her work amongst the Aborigines.
Mysie was a missionary with the United Aborigines Mission and, with her husband, Rodolphe Samuel Schenk, co-founded the Mount Margaret Mission in Western Australia.
Rod Schenk went to Western Australia with the same message as that given to the Aborigines in New South Wales when he was a member of the Aborigines Inland Mission. However, conditions in the Western Australian goldfields were very different. With the breakdown of the culture, dispossession of lands, repressive legislation and the consequent loss of dignity in a whole tribe of people, he was compelled to adopt different methods to proclaim the same gospel. This history tells what happened. (book flap)
The book has also been digitised by the Goldfields Aboriginal Language Centre.
