George John Alexander Swiney "Farvie" was born in Suffolk, England, in 1871 and was a pioneer in the 1920s of the Frankland River area in the Great Southern Region.
George's narrative Wither the Fates Call, however, is set in South Australia in the 1890s. It is a recollection of George's adventures with Frenchman Lionel Meyer.
