This book tells the story of the Women's Land Army (WA Division) from 1942 to 1945.

Ludbrook drew on the recollections of former Land Army girls and their families through letters, diaries and photographs.

The Australian Land Army Scheme was established to fill the essential jobs that had been vacated by men serving. The aim was also to increase the production of primary products suitable for clothing and the manufacture of munitions.
