Francis Patrick McManus (1905-1983) tells of his thirty years in Australian politics. A member of the Victorian Labor Party, he was aligned with B A Santamaria's anti-communist movement within Labor.
After the failure of the ALP at the 1954 federal election, McManus was expelled from the party, joining the Australian Labor Party (Anti-Communist), later called the Democratic Labor Party. He served as a senator for Victoria from 1956 to 1974.
