This commemorative book was published as part of a program of activities marking the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Darwin and other World War II events connected to the Northern Territory.
It contributes to the wartime history of the Northern Territory through photographs, some depicting the devastation war brought to Northern Australia, while others capture how life was for so many during this time.
The 19 February 1942 attack was the largest single assault ever mounted by a foreign power on Australia. More bombs were dropped on Darwin that day than on Pearl Harbour three months earlier, marking the start of a campaign that saw the Top End bombed over 60 times until November 1943.
All profits from the sale of this book go to the Bunbury RSL.
