Robert's provided a dynamic account of the political, economic and social lives of early pastoralist in New South Wales. He wrote "a sordid, filthy existence... there is no romance in monotony and mutton fat" (Source: American Historical Review, Vol 71, Issue 2, 1966.
Originally published in 1935, this edition is a reprint of the revised 1964 second edition.
