Full title: The Life and Adventures of William Buckley: Thirty-Two Years a Wanderer Amongst the Aborigines of the Then Unexplored Country Round Port Phillip, Now the Province of Victoria
In 1803, William Buckley was transported to Australia, and soon after landing, escaped with several fellow convicts into the unexplored area of what is now Melbourne.
Buckley survived and spent the ensuing thirty-two years living with the Aboriginals of the area. When discovered in 1835, he had become entirely assimilated into Aboriginal culture. This book gives an account of his experiences and a nearly unique description of Aboriginal culture before European contact. (publisher blurb)
