Initially published in 1940, The Governor's Lady is a biography of Anna Josepha King (nee Coombe) (1765-1844), who was married to Philip Gidley King, the third governor of New South Wales. She was the first woman to come to Australia as a governor's wife. The biography included the King's time in Norfolk Island.
