On the night of 10 February 1964, disaster struck naval exercises off Jervis Bay. HMAS Voyager inexplicably turned towards HMAS Melbourne and steamed under Melbourne's bows. The impact cut Voyager in two and 82 of her compliment lost their lives in Australia's worst peacetime naval disaster.
Tom Frame, a former RAN officer and now naval historian revisits the two Royal Commissions into the disaster and forms his conclusions on what happened on that night.
