The sequel to Robin Miller's autobiography Flying Nurse. Robin Miller, daughter of Horrie Miller and Mary Durack, died of cancer in 1975, aged just 35. Her husband, Dr Harold Dicks, used extracts from her diary to tell the rest of her story.
When she completed her training as a nurse and a pilot, Robin was offered the single-handed task of vaccinating the North West and the Kimberley population against polio. This meant visiting isolated ports, townships, mining camps, missions, cattle stations and remote communities. Called the Sugar Bird Lady by children, her experiences ranged from the tense to the bawdy, from the dramatic to the pathetic.
