Signal continued to be published in English until the editorial offices in Paris were closed, following France's liberation in July 1944.

Years of Retreat concludes Hitler's Wartime Picture Magazine series. In this third collection of rare photographs, the accompanying text becomes less strident. The editors realised that, with only a few victories to report, exaggeration of what little good news was available and outright untruths were necessary.
