Book Description

Secondhand. Very good condition. Minor wear to book corners and edges.

Jenolan Caves have a history spanning tens of thousands of years of Indigenous Gundungurra culture, with Europeans discovering the caves around 1838. The caves were set aside as a reserve in 1866, with Jeremiah Wilson appointed the first Keeper of the Caves in 1867. He, and later James Carvosso Wiburd, made significant discoveries of major caves and developed infrastructure like pathways and lighting, transforming the site into a premier tourist destination by the turn of the century.
