History of the White Australia Policy, first published in 1923, is an account of the rise and fall of immigration to Australia from Asia and the Pacific Islands. It was the first detailed examination of the White Australia Policy.
It surveys state restrictions on immigration before Federation, the system of indentured labour, and presents a picture of a young community protecting itself from immigration that could have altered its whole character. (book flap)
The second edition was a reprint with corrections. This copy was published in New York as part of the Reprint of Economic Classics series.
