Written to coincide with the 50th anniversary of its opening in Canberra in 1941, Here is Their Spirit, tells of the people and politics behind the Australian War Memorial.

It tells of the dedication of staff who struggled to hold onto the vision of Charles Bean, the Memorial's founder. It recounts with zeal and enthusiasm with which Australian soldiers collected items for their national museum.
