Gippsland is an area unique in Australia - backed by mountains, bounded by the sea, and cut off from the central Sydney-Melbourne axis of Australian history.
Yet, in many ways, Gipplands still embodies 19th-century Australia celebrated by those who search our past and present for national ethos. (book flap)
