When inland eastern Australia was forcibly taken from traditional owners by European settlers in the mid 19th century, the prize was river country.

The Indigenous people of the Barwon and Namoi were pushed on to reserves, missions and stations. What that meant to those who survived the traumas of dispossession is told in these earthy, generous and lively stories from their descendants.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander readers please note that this book may contain descriptions and/or images of people who have passed away.
