This book is a facsimile of Jules Raeside book originally published in 1929. The book is in memory of the author's brother John Reside, the first MLA for the new seat of Hannan but who died very suddenly in 1902.
The book presents a history of the Western Australian goldfields from the discovery of gold to the roaring 1920s. The book is a mixture of anecdotes, reminiscences and descriptive social, mining and biographical history.
