The book is an illustrated collection of excerpts and issues from the original Der Adler ("The Eagle"), which was the official biweekly propaganda magazine of the German Air Force before and during World War II.
It was originally produced to publicise the Luftwaffe within the ranks of the air force and throughout Germany, and to highlight the growing might and power of the new Luftwaffe worldwide.
It contains numerous black-and-white and some contemporary colour photographs of Luftwaffe aircraft, personnel, and operations. Some of the colour photographs were previously unpublished, showing aeroplanes under construction and in action during World War II, and were taken by the Goebbels Propaganda Company and by aircraft manufacturers such as Messerschmitt and Junkers.
It is an important social and historical document that will be of great interest to students of history and aircraft enthusiasts alike.
All profits from the sale of this book go to the Bunbury RSL.
