The author's father William Snell was born in Mt Barker, South Australia in 1862. William went on to have five children, including Lucy Christina and died in 1943 in Meekatharra Western Australia.
This book is a childhood memoir of growing up in the east Murchison goldfields. The author provides descriptions of the towns of Nannine, Burnakurra, Meekatharra and Cue in the early 20th Century. The camel drivers and the coming of the railway.
