The Home of the Good Shepherd at Leederville has played a unique role in the history of social welfare in Western Australia.
In response to the social problems caused by the 1890s goldrush in Western Australia, a small band of Sisters of the Congregation of the Good Shepard arrived in 1902. Their mission was the care and rehabilitation of women in poverty and working with women and girls in socially difficult circumstances. The Sisters moved into the Home of Good Shepard in 1904.
This book was commissioned by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd to commemorate their anniversary of foundation in Western Australia.
