The name Edgecombe can hardly be a strange one to West Australians. From the arrival of the first family member in 1925, the Edgecombes have been leading supporters of the grape and the wine industry in Edgecombe Brothers and through commerce.

An interest in banking has seen four generations of Edgecombes work as bankers, mainly at the Bank of New South Wales (Westpac), Australia's first bank founded in 1817.
