Augustus Charles Gregory was an English-born Australian explorer and surveyor. Between 1846 and 1858, he undertook four major expeditions, including to the Gascoyne River in Western Australia to look for new pastureland and also in the interior of Queensland. Gregory was the first Surveyor-General of Queensland and was appointed a lifetime Member of the Queensland Legislative Council.
This booklet is part of the Australian Explorers series, which tells the stories of those expeditions and, while accurate in their details, is also easy to read.
