Vic Smith, a veterinary scientist, was born in India, educated in England and Scotland, and worked nearly thirty years in Nigeria and Western Australia.
He enjoyed studying the local fauna where ever he had been working. He retired to the south coast of Western Australia in the mid-1980s and was then able to study the local wildlife in the Torndirrup National Park and the Albany Region. (back cover)
