This local history takes you through the gradual development of an area on the way to Scarborough Beach, along Plank Road, in the early 20th century. The area covered 7.4km from Main St to Scarborough Beach Road and 2km on each side of Scarborough Beach Road.
Approximately 3,000 hectares of land, with as few as 200 houses and three schools, were opened between 1894 and 1955. They were the Roman Catholic Industrial School at Glendalough (1894-1919), the Seventh Day Adventist School in Osborne Park (1900-1910), and Njookenbooroo State School (1914-1955). (Introduction)
