The story of the Australian-made Beaufort torpedo bombers in action and of the Australians who flew these machines and serviced them.
Australia built 700 Beaufort bombers for the RAAF, and for nine months of 1944-45 alone, the Beauforts dropped more than half of the total tonnage dropped by the RAAF, in the whole of the South West Pacific for that period.
This book is the Beaufort's three-year war history. It is punctuated with tales of losses, striking rescues, and miraculous escapes.
Well illustrated with official photographs. (Book Review Weekly Times, 12 November 1947)
