Handbook No. 11.

The first regional study was completed by the WA Naturalist' Club. It represents close cooperation between the Club and the Wongan-Ballidu Shire.

The Wongan Hills in the Wheatbelt Region represents a large area of uncleared vegetation, the majority of which is not reserved but privately owned in an area with no major conservation reserves.

Of all the Wheatbelt areas, the Hills rank as the most important both historically and biologically, having been reported on by explorers and naturalists from just after the founding of the Swan River Colony. (Preface)
