Book Description

Secondhand. Good condition. Wear to book corners and edges. Interior is very good.

Throughout the world, but especially in Australia, communities live and breathe through their sporting teams: when our team wins we win; when they lose, we despair.

In the sometimes struggling area between Margaret River and Augusta, in the years before and after WWII, a handful of gallant football teams, many of them timber workers or dairy farmers, carried hopes of their communities.

Teams included heroes and villains; some of the ovals they played on were terrible; so, sometimes, was the weather. There was desperation, courage, skill and comical characters - all riding the bumps, on and off the field. This is their story. (back cover)
