Latham and Maya are two very small towns in the Mid West Region. Latham is named after the Latham Rock, a watering hole established by early pastoralist Francis Arthur Latham. Located on the Wongan Hills to Muellewa railway, the town was gazetted in 1917. Maya began as a railway siding and was gazetted as a town in 1913. Both towns are surrounded by wheat and other cereal crops. (Chapters 1-3)
Commissioned for the centenary in 2009.
