This is the tale of the clipper ship Ticonderoga that sailed from Liverpool in 1852 to Australia. The ship was full of mostly Scottish emigrants escaping the Highland clearances and the potato famine.
Three months later, the ship sailed into Port Phillip Bay, flying the yellow contagion flag. On her harrowing voyage, Typhus had broken out.
