In 1896, the unassuming Flack was dubbed the 'Lion of Athens'. He was Australia's first Olympic Games gold medalist, winning gold medals in the 300 and 1500 metres. He is the only Australian male to be a dual gold medalist in track and field events.
Much more than an athlete, he became one of Australia's biggest accountants. As a partner in Flack & Flack, which became PricewaterhouseCoopers. (back cover)
