Catherine Eliza Somerville Stow (1856-1940), who wrote as K Langloh Parker, was a writer who lived in northern New South Wales. She compiled and published the stories in Australian Legendary Tales in 1895, at a time when she was witnessing what she considered to be the dying out of local Indigenous people.
