With the settlement of British pioneering families in the Mukinbudin district, came the need for education for their children. This brought the opening of many small schools, the first one being in Mukinbudin in 1923. Hardships and difficulties, brought about by economic depression and drought, were reflected in the gradual closure of these schools, the last being Cleomine in 1951. (Foreword)
