Built at a time when mariners were guided to Busselton by a tub hanging from a pole, the Busselton Jetty became a busy port of call for trading ships of many nationalities. But the port was closed, then fires and cyclones did their best to destroy the jetty structure. With the determination of the Busselton people, the Jetty was restored and transformed into a major tourist attraction.
